Design Story

The composition is built like a medallion. A burnt-orange medallion anchors the middle, ringed by pale faceted accents, with the horns spreading wide to fill the horizontal space. Banner lettering does the vertical work: TEXAS across the top, LONGHORNS beneath it, HOOK 'EM HORNS curving along the lower arc, and a football panel with EST. 1883 closing the base. Deep near-black paneling keeps the gold detail from turning noisy. It is ornamental, but it is disciplined ornament, hierarchy first, decoration second.

Use & Experience

On a tall tumbler silhouette this works because the crest reads as one clean focal panel at eye level, while the darker banded top and base give the vertical proportion somewhere to breathe.
