Collegiate identity, restyled with the restraint of a fashion house. This is school spirit dressed down to ivory, gold and a single line of blue.

Design Story

The composition is strictly vertical and centered. Blue block lettering reading UCLA sits at the top of the focal panel, the only saturated colour in an otherwise tonal field. Beneath it, gold-toned type steps down in scale: UCLA BRUINS, then EST. 1919, then a fine rule, then a small circular emblem carrying a B. Lower on the body, thin gold linework traces arcs across the tapered base, echoing court markings without ever announcing itself. The palette is cream on cream, so the hierarchy is carried by scale and contrast rather than noise.

Use & Experience

On a tumbler, that vertical stack reads perfectly: the eye lands on the wordmark at chest height, then travels down through the supporting type as the silhouette narrows. The handle sits outside the graphic field, leaving the front panel uninterrupted, and the pale ground keeps the piece quiet on a desk, in a bag or in hand.
