Design Story

The composition sits low and wide: a seated figure leaned against a wooden chest, three sheathed blades stacked to the right, a straw hat and rolled map anchoring the base. Above him, a palm frond and drifting clouds open the upper field, with a distant ship and gulls holding the far horizon. Vertical Japanese lettering runs down the left margin beside a small circular skull seal, framing the scene like a print signature. The palette stays deliberately muted \Uffffffff olive, sand, faded indigo, warm skin tones \Uffffffff so nothing competes for attention. Ink linework does the structural work; colour only fills.
